Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman remains the center of attraction amid the growing controversy over his participation in the upcoming IPL. Mustafizur’s social media post has thrilled everyone claiming a major milestone amid BCCI’s decree against Bangladesh cricketers.
Bangladesh’s left-arm fast bowling sensation Mustafizur was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2026 mini-auction for a whopping price of Rs 9.20 crore. However, since the bid has been made by the Knight Riders, they have succumbed to extreme family pressure.
Amidst the ongoing debate, Mustafizur has continued to perform well on the field, as he is currently playing in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), and things have taken a different turn since his last outing in the BPL.
Mustafizur Rahman will be released by KKR as per BCCI orders
Recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India had asked Kolkata Knight Riders to release the Bangladesh fast bowler before the 2026 IPL season. If KKR replaces Rahman with other players then it will be able to use the funds wisely.
After a tough bidding war with Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings, KKR bought him for Rs 9.20 crore, much more than his base price of Rs 2 crore. In view of the political pressure on BCCI, they have issued an order to Knight Riders to release the player from the team.
According to information received from BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia, BCCI asked KKR to release the Bangladesh fast bowler from the team and they have also been allowed to choose a replacement player.
When asked about the reason behind the call, he said, “Due to the recent developments.” However, Mustafizur has been performing exceptionally well in whatever tournament he is playing.

Amid the ongoing debate, Mustafizur Rahman recently took to social media and celebrated a personal achievement with a post on his X account after his stellar performance in the BPL.
During his recent outing for Sylhet Titans, Mustafizur performed exceptionally well and grabbed three wickets in the match. This took him to 400 wickets in his T20 career.
