Delhi Capitals captain Akshar Patel won the toss and decided to bowl first. Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya was not available for the match, leaving Suryakumar Yadav to lead the team. Deepak Chahar, Corbin Bosch and Mitchell Santner replaced Pandya, Trent Boult and Allah Ghazanfar in the starting lineup.
Mukesh Kumar’s brilliant catch and bowled sent Tilak Verma packing
Mumbai Indians suffered an early blow as Mukesh Kumar took two wickets in the same over. He provided strong momentum to his team by dismissing Tilak Verma for 0 runs in 2 balls with a sharp catch-and-bowl effort.
Mukesh bowled a slow ball and Tilak Verma played the shot very quickly. The left-handed batsman failed to control it and chipped it straight back. Mukesh reacted quickly and ducked down to complete a clean catch.
Mukesh continued his strong record against Tilak. In 5 innings, he has conceded just 26 runs in 15 balls and been dismissed 4 times at an average of 6.5 and a strike rate of 173.3. Early successes put Mumbai Indians under pressure inside the powerplay, giving Delhi Capitals a strong start.
