Former Team India cricketer Yogaj Singh has criticized MS Dhoni after a dispute around the viral ‘hookah’ incident. Yuvraj Singh’s father Yograj accused Dhoni of maintaining a “conviction” on the matter and claimed that several former players were abused under his captaincy.
MS Dhoni, who is away from competitive cricket since the end of IPL 2025, is in the news due to an old video of Irfan Pathan. In the clip, Pathan recalled his exclusion from the national cricket team in 2008 and alleged that the former captain liked the players who “established a hookah for him.”

Yogaj Singh also targeted Kapil Dev and Bishan Singh Bedi for unfair treatment of some players. The former all -rounder said that wrongdoing by the captains caused harm to the team under his leadership.

Irfan Pathan was part of India’s 2007 T20 World Cup winning team and won the Player of the Match in the final against Pakistan. In particular, he was removed from the national side after the 2012 season, when MS Dhoni captained all formats.
Pathan recalled India’s 2011 ODI World Cup victory and took limited demonstrations between 2009 and 2011. He returned briefly in 2012 before he was permanently sidelined.
Pathan scored 29 Tests, 120 Odis and 24 T20 Eye, 1,105 Test runs and took 100 wickets in Tests. He took a total of 301 international wickets, including 7/59 against Zimbabwe in 2005. He last played an international match against South Africa during the 2012 T20 World Cup.
In the IPL, Pathan represented several franchisees, including Punjab Kings, Delhi Capital, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rising Pune Superbers. After retiring from professional cricket, he is now working as a commentator.
