Gautam Gambhir’s childhood coach Sanjay Bhardwaj has excavated a sly in MS Dhoni on his success as a captain. Dhoni is one of the most decorated captains in India.
Under its captaincy, India won the T20 World Cup, ODI World Cup, as well as the Champions Trophy. He remains the only captain to win all three major ICC tournaments in the limited overs format. Under Dhoni’s captaincy, India also achieved number one rank in Test cricket for the first time.
Dhoni’s captaincy journey began in 2007, and he led the team for nearly a decade before handing over the reins to Virat Kohli in all formats in early 2017.

Gautam Gambhir’s coach targeted MS Dhoni:
While MS Dhoni is widely considered one of the most successful captains of India, Sanjay Bhardwaj believes that former star of former India will not be able to achieve success without the support of former BCCI President N Srinivasan.
In a podcast, Bhardwaj said that, unlike Dhoni, Gautam was not a serious diplomat and straightforward. Bhardwaj went to say that MS Dhoni was like the son of Srinivasan and the latter support played a big role in his success.
“The biggest thing about Gautam Gambhir is that he was not diplomat. It was MS Dhoni’s good fortune that he was like the son of Srinivasan. There was nothing that was with Gambhir. The board chairman played a big role in making Dhoni.”
“In any field, if your boss supports you, you will move forward. It did not happen to Gambhir,” he said.
Gambhir led KKR 2 IPL title as captain
While Gambhir led India in some matches, he was never permanently assigned the team’s captaincy.
Gambhir proved Kolkata Knight Riders to two titles and proved his captaincy in the IPL. Incidentally, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Dhoni -led Chennai Super Kings to win their first title in 2012.

Currently, Gambhir is doing his business as the head coach of Team India. He took over the team last year and has done well so far.
India won the Champions Trophy early this year and recently attracted the Test series in England. India are currently playing in the Asia Cup and want to get the trophy.
