India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, said Asia Cup 2025 Title by defeating Pakistan in the final at Dubai International Stadium on 28 September. However, Suryakumar Yadav’s side refused to receive the trophy from the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) President Mohsin Naqvi.
India won five wickets in the Asia Cup final in Dubai. The T20 World Champions remained unbeaten throughout the competition, defeating Pakistan three times, including the finals. India secured its ninth Asia Cup title – the most achieved by any side in the history of the tournament.
India refused to accept Asia Cup 2025 Trophy from Mohsin Naqvi
India faced Pakistan for the first time in the Asia Cup 2025 after Pahalgam Terror Attack and Operation Sindoor. Blue men avoided handshake with their rivals at the group’s stage. Mohsin Naqvi contacted the ICC for the match referee Andy Picroft.
The Indian players did not want to get the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi due to the posts taken by the internal minister of Pakistan. Naqvi shared a Cristiano Ronaldo Clip of a crashed plane and also a image titled “Final Day” Salman Ali Aga And Shaheen Shah Afridi in the flight suit, with fighter jets in the background.
The Indian side only agreed to take the trophy with Khalid Al Zaroni, vice -president of the Emirates Cricket Board, but Naqvi refused, which pushed the ceremony about 45 minutes behind the schedule.
While Abhishek Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav and Tilak Verma collected their personal awards, the main presentation was not done. No agreement was reached, the incident suddenly ended, and Naqvi reportedly withdrew the Asia Cup Trophy to her hotel room.
Suryakumar Yadav donates match fees to Indian armed forces
Earlier this year, terrorists killed 26 tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. India replied with Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (POK). Fans and former cricketers questioned the BCCI’s decision to participate in the Asia Cup 2025.
India faced Pakistan three times in the tournament and won all occasions. After the group stage win, captain Suryakumar Yadav Dedicated to Vijay for the Indian armed forces and expressed solidarity with the victims of the initiative attack.
After the final, Suryakumar donated the match fees to the armed forces from the entire Asia Cup and the families who lost loved ones in the Pahgam tragedy.
Mohsin Naqvi prepared to remove as ACC chair
Subhayan Chakraborty, a journalist at Revsports, took him to share a written comment about the ongoing situation on social media. He made a joke about the changing leadership in the Asian Cricket Council amid recent developments.

NAQVI joined the PCB Governing Board on 22 January 2024, after an appointment by acting Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakar. He was elected unopposed on 6 February 2024 as the 37th President of PCB. Naqvi also served as the acting Chief Minister of Punjab.
