Pakistan Shaheens, led by Irfan Khan Niazi, won the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 title by defeating Bangladesh A in the Super Over at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha. ACC President and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi handed over the trophy to the winning team on Sunday, November 23.
Saad Masood and Sufiyan Muqeem played major roles in Pakistan Shaheens’ victory. The final went to a Super Over, where Pakistan denied the title to Bangladesh A. Chasing seven runs in the Super Over, the Shaheens won with two balls to spare and were crowned ACC Rising Stars for the third time.
Mohsin Naqvi hands over Asia Cup trophy to Pakistan in Doha
Mohsin Naqvi has been in controversy for several months regarding Asia Cup 2025. India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, refused to accept the trophy from Naqvi. The Men in Blue are still yet to lift the Asia Cup trophy after defeating Pakistan in the final earlier this year.
On Sunday, Naqvi finally handed over a trophy which his country won. Pakistan A won a thrilling final against Bangladesh A in Doha. Naqvi, who is both the ACC president and PCB chairman, was at the stadium and watched the tense match with enthusiasm.
After the victory, Naqvi went out for the presentation and gave the trophy to the winning captain. He celebrated Pakistan’s victory and completed the presentation without any problem.

Pakistan’s Shaheen really played like Shaheen – Mohsin Naqvi
In a statement, Mohsin Naqvi said that the team demonstrated the skill and unity required to win the title. Naqvi also congratulated the entire team and coaching staff, calling this victory an important moment for Pakistan’s cricket future.
Naqvi said, “Pakistan Shaheen played really like Shaheen and became champions for the third time. They displayed excellent teamwork by defeating Bangladesh in the final. Their performance throughout the tournament was impressive.”
He said, “I heartily congratulate all the players and coaching staff. Today’s victory marks the beginning of a bright and wonderful future for Pakistan cricket.”
Ahmed Daniel was selected as the best player of the match
Bangladesh batted first in the super over. Ahmed Daniel dismissed Abdul Ghaffar Saqlain on the very first ball. Despite the wide going to the boundary line, Daniels held the position and restricted Bangladesh to just six runs.
Pakistan needed seven runs to win the title. Saad Masood started the chase with a leg bye, followed by a single, before hitting a four. After this, he completed the winning run by hitting an inside-edge on the next ball and secured the Rising Stars trophy.
Earlier in the match, Pakistan scored a total of 126 runs. However, they made a quick comeback after Bangladesh’s openers gave their team a strong start. Arafat Minhas, Saad Masood, Sufiyan Muqim and Maaz Sadakat pulled Bangladesh from 36-1 to 53-7.
Raqibul Hasan and SM Mehrob briefly revived hopes, but Daniel’s double strike ended the partnership and left Bangladesh trailing by nine runs. Saqlain and Ripon Mondol reduced the equation to two on the last ball, but could only score one run, forcing a super over.
