Former Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad launched a scathing attack on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) led by Mohsin Naqvi. Shahzad criticized the board right after Pakistan’s defeat in the ODI series against Bangladesh in Dhaka.
Through a video, the former international batsman claimed that the players had no confidence left on the board, which is why they decided to leave the country to play for other countries like the United States and UAE.
Bangladesh defeated Pakistan in 3 match ODI series
The bad phase of Pakistan cricket team continued during the 3-match ODI series against Bangladesh. Before the series, it seemed that the team led by Shaheen Afridi could easily win the series. The final output was completely different.
Scored 290 runs batting first in 3 inningsthird Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 11 runs in the 3-match ODI series. Salman Ali Aga’s inning of 106 runs in 98 balls went in vain. Bangladesh cricket team’s opener Tanjid Hasan Tamim’s inning of 107 runs proved to be decisive in determining the winner of the match as well as the series.
Chasing the challenging target, four Pakistani batsmen, including Sahibzada Farhan, who has been brilliant in the T20 World Cup 2026, were out before reaching a double-digit score. Salman Ali Aga proved to be the loan warrior of the team. The fast bowlers of the host team did not allow the batsmen of the opposing team to settle on the track.
Mohsin Naqvi’s PCB made radical changes in the ODI team
For Bangladesh, veteran seamer Taskin Ahmed took 4 wickets in his 10-over spell at an economy rate of only 4.90. Nahid Rana and Mustafizur Rahman took 2 and 3 wickets. Pakistan managed to score 279 runs in 50 overs.
The PCB included a number of uncapped players for the ODI series as their T20I team made an early exit from the 2026 T20 World Cup. According to reports, Mohsin Naqvi had a huge influence on the changes in the team. During the World Cup, several reports claimed that Mohsin Naqvi was ‘not happy’ with the performance of some senior cricketers.
Ahmed Shehzad claimed that many talented cricketers have already left the country to pursue their careers with different teams as they have no confidence in the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Ahmed Shehzad made a direct attack on Mohsin Naqvi led PCB
The former batsman directly told the Mohsin Naqvi-led cricket board, “Pakistan is bearing the brunt of the sick biased mentality of the selection committee. Deserving players are leaving for teams like UAE and USA because genuine talent is being ignored. They have lost all faith in you. They left because they don’t trust you.”
He further claimed that there is no unity in the Pakistan national cricket team and the team is divided into different camps. Instead of improving the game, cricketers have started blaming each other.
He further said, “He has turned the Pakistan national cricket team into his personal property. The team is divided, some players are in and some are out, and the attitude of many players is now very high. Instead of improving themselves, they just keep blaming others. If they really cared about Pakistan cricket, they would have done something worthwhile by now.”
