PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has recently clarified his stand on India-Pakistan cricket talks for the bilateral series between the two countries with BCCI for the Asia Cup 2025 match.

Mohsin Naqvi has no begging

Apart from bilateral cricket, India vs Pakistan has been a major challenge for both boards hosting matches. As the hosting rights of this Asia Cup have been considered by the BCCI, but will be held in the UAE.

Earlier, the Government of India had clarified that there would be no bilateral cricket with Pakistan in future, but both teams can continue to play against each other in multi-nation programs.

India is to play against Pakistan on 14 September for the League Stage Game in the Asia Cup 2025. Both teams can probably play against each other even in the following stages of the tournament.

Both teams were placed in the same group, as the Asian Cricket Council had already signed an agreement with the official broadcasts of the tournament for the match between India and Pakistan in the group stage.

PCB President Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the President of ACC, is now clear that all talks about Indo-Pak cricket with BCCI will be on ‘equal footing’.

“I think we are very clear that whenever it is interacted, it will be at a uniform rungs with India, and will have to beg more for conversation. That time has passed, and whatever will happen will be based on equality,” cash said a few days before the start of the Asia Cup during a press conference in Lahore.
