Mohammed Siraj had a heated argument with Virat Kohli’s partner during the IPL 2026 final.

The target of 156 runs is not big on paper. With the amount of talent Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have in their batting line-up, they are expected to find it with ease.

In the first over of the second innings, when Virat Kohli and Venkatesh Iyer were at the crease, Mohammed Siraj for Gujarat Titans (GT) made it clear that he is not here to give even an inch of grass to RCB easily at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Siraj opened the innings for GT with pace and well-directed line and length against the RCB openers. Venkatesh Iyer faced most of the balls in the over. A ball from the fast bowler went very close to exposing Iyer’s defence. Iyer escaped.

The fast bowler took a few steps forward to play a psychological game with the opposing batsman. Siraj told Iyer, ‘If you can, try to hit the next ball because you are very eager to attack.’ The batsman replied slowly. The RCB opener and influential batsman threatened the opposition team with a hit on the very next ball.

“Just go back to your run-up and bowl. I’ll show you how to hit it,” Iyer told Siraj. On the next ball, Mohammed Siraj came with more aggression and hit the ball on the body of Venkatesh Iyer. The physio arrived on the field to examine the batsman as the ball speed was good.

The first over of the second innings was brilliant for Gujarat Titans as Siraj gave away only 5 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore. In those 6 balls of the over, Venkatesh Iyer faced five and Virat Kohli faced one ball. Mohammed Siraj is one of the bowlers in the IPL 2026 season who has made a great comeback after some poor starts in the initial phase of the season.

With significantly improved pace and better control over line and length, the star Indian seamer took 18 wickets in 17 matches, ahead of the final against Royal Challengers Bangalore. To defend a low score of 155, GT needs the best from its premier bowler.

Siraj had the last laugh when he helped his team get rid of Venkatesh Iyer. In the fifth over of the innings, when the RCB batsman was looking in great form, GT immediately stopped him. Iyer had to be out after scoring 32 runs in 16 balls.

With a strike rate of 200.00, this vigorous innings was decorated with four fours and a few sixes. Mohammad Siraj took the wicket, but still RCB is looking strong to cross the target. Bengaluru lost the wicket of Venkatesh Iyer at the score of 62 runs in 4.3 overs. GT will have to pull some miracles to push RCB back into the contest.
