When Ryan Rickelton looped a ball over the mid-on fielder, Mohammed Siraj caught it out of the air as he made a precise jump and took a good overhead catch. This gave the first blow to India in the second innings and Jadeja got success.
India and South Africa are competing for the top spot in the WTC points table and visiting team South Africa has dominated the Indians at home. They won the first game of the series at the Eden Gardens and are looking towards a clean sweep of the series.
On the other hand, India will be trying to save its honor as losing another home series would be a big blow to the reputation of the two-time WTC runners-up. South Africa is close to a lead of 400 runs.
Ryan Rickelton is out after a brilliant effort from Mohammed Siraj
In the 19th over of the game, Ravindra Jadeja was called to bowl the third over of his spell. India are definitely looking for wickets to win or draw the match and they have made the right decision by bringing in their most experienced spinner, captain Pant.
Jadeja bowled the third ball of the over when Ryan Rickelton moved down the track, opened his aggressive wings and looked to loft the ball through the on-side. The ball was not a very good turner, but Jadeja maintained his grip and the batsman missed the shot over the cover region.
Mohammed Siraj timed his jump perfectly and took a stunning overhead catch. Usually, such catches are not easy to take, but Siraj has cat-like reflexes which is necessary for this situation.
