Mohammed Shami’s hopes of returning to the Indian cricket team have suffered another setback as he was ignored for Australia’s upcoming White-Ball Tour. Mohammed Shami was neither selected in the ODI team nor the T20I squad for the upcoming Australia Tour.
Despite Shami’s determination to make a comeback, the Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) is not allegedly ready to remember the experienced Indian pacer, not only because of his game, but also with his declining performance with the ball.
Mohammed Shami again ignored India selection
Shami showed a glimpse of her ability earlier this year, taking nine wickets in five matches and played an important role in India’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Triumph.

But he failed to continue his form in IPL 2025 for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and then his recent domestic outing raised doubts about his speed and continuity.
Out of 34 overs for the East Zone in the Dalip Trophy, only 1/136 figure of Shami left the BCCI and disappointed by national selectors. Despite this, he showed a desire to play in the ICC World Cup 2025.
BCCI is not ready to return to Mohammed Shami
But the BCCI is cautious due to the declining form of a 35 -year -old bowler. He now wants to see Shami’s strong performance in domestic cricket before considering India’s return.
The Telegraph quoted a BCCI source as saying: “At this time, it is becoming increasingly difficult for Shami to return to the Indian team. Even in the Dalip game, he was not very impressive, stopping a strange magic.
In addition, he is not doing any small, and speeding, that too, he was not in his best in the dilip. But to continue in the IPL, he will have to play a good amount of domestic games. ,
