Mohammed Shami’s younger brother Mohammed Kaif has been accused of being in a relationship with a girl named Mehwish, as she has claimed that despite being in a three-year-long relationship with the cricketer, she did not give any clarity on their marriage.
After meeting through a mutual friend, they were in a relationship for over three years and also claimed that it had reached the point where they were serious about marriage. Mehwish then alleged that Kaif kept delaying the marriage citing his cricket career and IPL as his major aspirations.
She then claimed that despite rejecting his marriage proposal several times, she kept contacting him to get closure, but the cricketer kept maintaining distance from her. Mehwish also revealed how she reached out to her elder brother, Haseeb and others associated with her to resolve the situation. However, they also continued to ignore him.
Mohammad Kaif’s career gets a big boost with dominance in Ranji Trophy
The Indian legend’s 29-year-old younger brother Mohammad Kaif is also a cricketer who plays domestic cricket for Bengal. Unlike his brother, who is a fast bowler, Kaif bowls medium pace and made his domestic debut in 2021.
He has also not been successful on domestic grounds, as he has played just nine matches despite making his List A debut five years ago in 2021. He has played much of the last two years of cricket for Bengal since making his first-class debut in 2024.
Having played only for Bengal, he has taken 43 wickets with the red ball, playing 14 matches in the last three seasons. He also played a few matches in the Ranji Trophy this season against Tripura, Railways and Assam.
