Former Team India bowling coach Bharat Arun shared that Mohammad Sirj lost his father during a tour of Australia. Arun revealed that Sirj was limited to his room during the tour due to a strict bio-bubble protocol, and only the team manager was allowed to meet him after obtaining special permission.
Mohammad Siraj entered Test cricket during the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, where he was given his debut in the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne. Pesar, who was brought as the third-transfined bowler in the first innings, impressed with the figures of 2 for 40 of the 15 overs.

Bharat Arun said that it was extremely challenging for Mohammad Siraj, described it as a “five -star jail”. Arun said that there would have been a lot during that difficult period to relax someone to be physically present.
“It was a five -star prison. The manager was only one. He got special permission, but none of us could see it. It was really difficult. We spoke a lot on the phone. We spoke on a WhatsApp call,” Arun said.
He said, “But it was. There is nothing like a human touch. The shoulder to cry at that time was very important for the head, but there was no shoulder to cry,” he said.

Bharat Arun said that Mohammad Siraj decided to stay in Australia despite his father being an alternative to returning to India after his father passed away. Arun said that Sirj was inspired by his dream of playing Test cricket for the country.

Siraj had an impact in his first Test series, helping India win 2–1 against Australia. Pesar took 13 wickets in six innings, including a five -wicket race in the final test at Gabba in Brisbane.

Mohammad Siraj emerged as India’s leading bowler in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, taking 23 wickets in five tests. He was the only Indian pacer to feature in every match of the series. Siraj produced the match-winning demonstrations, including two five-wickets and a four-wicket hall.
Hyderabad cricketer took 4-86 and 5–104 in the fifth and final test at the Oval and was named Player of the Match. Siraj has played 41 Test matches and has taken 123 wickets on an average of 31.05, with five wickets Houles and seven four-wickets in his name.
In particular, Sirj was not included in India’s 15-member squad for the 2025 Asia Cup starting on 9 September. However, he is expected to return to the two-testing home series against the West Indies after the tournament.
