India National Cricket Team premiere Pesar Mohammad Siraj paid a rich tribute to Portugal’s late footballer Dogo Jota during the Lord’s Test against England.

Mohammad Siraj cleaned Jamie Smith for 51

Jamie Smith has been in the top form in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, and his frequent performance has helped him become the fastest wicketkeeper-batsman in Test history, scoring 1000 runs in terms of balls facing.

During the first innings in the Lord’s Test, he found an early lifeline when KL Rahul dropped him, and he then sure to punish India. Young English wicketkeeper-batsman broke a brilliant half-century and ended with a score of 51 runs off 56 balls.

He was cleaned by Mohammad Siraj in the 107th over. Siraj delivered a length out of the off-stump to Smith, which came away, and the English wicketkeeper-batsman managed to achieve only an outer edge, in which the ball was going directly into the hands of wicketkeeper Dhruv Juril.

After taking the wicket, Mohammad Siraj was seen pointing ‘2 0’ with his fingers. It was a tribute to 28 -year -old Liverpool and Portugal’s Diaogo Jota, who died in a car accident with his brother, Andre Silva in a car accident in Northwestern Spain on 3 July.

Jota’s Lamborghini crashed after a tire blowout, leaving the car leaving the road. In response to his death, Liverpool announced that he would “immortal” Jersey number 20 of Jota in his memory.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Nasar Hussain appreciated Jamie Smith, saying that he was as his life. He said:

“It was actually a session of two parts. It was the first half with India and magical Bumrah with that new ball since last night – Stokes delivery was really unattainable.

“Then England, as they often do, fought back with the tail. Cars is a very good player and Smith is in his life. England’s tempo is present. That is why I like Smith with the lower order, he gets it right. He is a serious player and is going to be a serious player for a long time.”

Meanwhile, Michael Etharton praised Joe Root for his sensational century. He said:
