An interesting update has come from the United States. Ahead of the upcoming season of The Hundred League, MI London have secured the contract of controversial Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir.
Aamir will be seen playing for MI London in the upcoming season of the Franchise League. The veteran will be second in command to Abrar Ahmed, who has been signed by the IPL-owned team.
After Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Amir joins The Hundred 2026
Earlier, during the player auction for the men’s tournament, Sunrisers Leeds had secured the services of Pakistan international Abrar Ahmed. It is noteworthy that MI London is co-owned by Surrey Cricket Club (51%) and Reliance Industries Limited (49%) through its subsidiary Reliance Strategic Business Ventures Limited.

Aamir previously played for MI London Men’s during the 2024 season of the tournament. His tenure with the franchise was a bit controversial as he played only one match before being kicked out of the league. In that single game, he picked up a brace.
Mohammad Aamir bowled well in PSL 2026
Ahead of the 2026 The Hundred, the 34-year-old was in good form with the ball during the last edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), when he took 12 wickets in 10 matches and the same number of innings for newly added team Rawalpindies in the league. He took these 12 wickets at an economy rate of 8.81.
However, no official announcement has been made by MI London yet.
MI London squad for The Hundred 2026:
Sam Curran (£350,000), Will Jacques (£250,000), Nicholas Pooran (£175,000), Rashid Khan (£175,000), James Vince (£190,000), Tom Curran (£260,000), Trent Boult (£100,000), Nathan Sowter (£130,000), Sherfane Rutherford (£100,000), Richard Gleeson (£65,000), Ollie Pope (£31,000), Ollie Stone (£50,000), Ollie Sykes (£31,000), Callum Parkinson (£31,000), Jason Roy (£31,000), Mohammad Amir.
Aamir has played three seasons of The Hundred so far. In three seasons with three different teams, the fast bowler has managed 6 wickets in 8 matches, which is not enough to justify his talent.
Abrar Ahmed and Usman Tariq will also feature in the 2026 The Hundred League
It will be interesting to see if this development will lead to any controversy on social media platforms. There was a lot of controversy on various platforms when Sunrisers Leads bought Pakistani spinner Abrar Ahmed.
A section of cricket fans wrote against Kavya Maran and Sunrisers Leeds because of the signing. However, Leeds stood by the decision and later explained why they chose to include Ahmed.
Usman Tariq is another Pakistani international player who will be seen playing in the upcoming season of the league. Tariq has been confirmed for the league by Birmingham Phoenix.
