Mohammad Aamir trolled Abhishek Sharma: Abhishek has been India’s best T20 batsman after the 2024 T20 World Cup. The batsman has the highest strike rate while opening the batting after 2024, he has a strike rate of 194.45. However, the flamboyant left-handed opening batsman did not have the best start to his 2026 T20 World Cup campaign while opening the innings for India.
In the first match against the United States, he was dismissed for a golden duck, and since then, he has not performed for the Men in Blue as he is suffering from a stomach problem. He is expected to play India’s next match against Pakistan in Colombo on February 15, as the Men in Blue are still assessing his fitness ahead of the crucial encounter.

Mohammad Aamir took a jibe at Abhishek Sharma
Before India’s next match, former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has taken a dig at India’s best T20 batsman. The left-arm fast bowler, who is called a left-handed batsman in the show ‘Hasna Mana Hai’, is just a slugger and he also revealed his weaknesses and how the bowlers should deal with them.
Here is the video
Muhammad Aamir on Abhishek Sharma:
“To be honest, he is just a slugger. His chances of failure are high. He is not a technically good batsman. It is not difficult to deal with such a batsman if you bowl on the body line. He will struggle against slower balls as well.” pic.twitter.com/6lsABj8sdl

When asked about Abhishek, Mohammad Amir said, “To be honest, he is just a slugger. The chances of him failing are high. He is not a technically good batsman. If you bowl on the body line, it is not difficult to deal with such a batsman. He will struggle against slower balls also.”
Abhishek Sharma is a game changer
USA made a plan against Abhishek and succeeded in getting him out on the very first ball. He has been a game changer as he strikes, hitting a four every 3 balls on an average. 80.3% of his runs coming from the boundary are exceptionally high. If he gets going, he changes the course of the match.
The southpaw has scored 110 runs with the help of seven sixes and 11 fours in just three innings at an average of 36.66 and an amazing strike rate of 189.65 and has one half-century to his name. However, his impact in two of the three matches has been extraordinary. He is not completely fit and his participation remains in doubt.
Abhishek Sharma important against Pakistan
If Abhishek is fit and his bat works then it will be really difficult for Pakistan bowlers to handle him. In 38 T20Is, he has scored 1,297 runs at an average of over 37 and a blistering strike rate of 195. Abhishek Sharma did not take the field against USA and also did not play against Namibia.
He was taken to the hospital while attending a dinner party hosted by head coach Gautam Gambhir in Delhi. Abhishek’s weight has reduced by 2 kg since he was admitted to the hospital due to stomach problem. They are being monitored and have a strict diet plan, as the Men in Blue management keeps a close watch.
Abhishek will also need to bowl in Sri Lankan conditions, as the pitches in the island nation are slow and offer spin. He has been a useful left-arm spinner for the team.
