Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Aamir has recently given a big statement regarding the future of Maaz Sadaqat. After his extraordinary all-round performance against Bangladesh, Aamir predicted that the young batsman has the potential to become the Abhishek Sharma of the Pakistan cricket team.
The 20-year-old opening batsman produced an all-round performance during the second ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka. Pakistan team led by Shaheen Shah Afridi lost the first match of the series. Sadaqat helped the Men in Green to a 128-run win in the second ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Mohammad Aamir praised Maaz Sadaqat for his talent and skills. Aamir said that Pakistan cricket management must carefully nurture Sadaqat to maximize his long-term value to the team.
Aamir said, “I don’t know whether Abhishek Sharma should be in our team or not. But now that you have seen the potential in Maaz Sadaqat, you should pay special attention to how we should make him a player.”

Sadaqat opened Pakistan’s innings with Sahibzada Farhan. He attacked the Bangladesh bowlers during the powerplay overs. Sadaqat scored 75 runs in just 46 balls at a strike rate of 163.04, which included six fours and five sixes. He made a partnership of 103 runs with Farhan for the first wicket.

Mohammad Amir stressed on the huge responsibility given to the team captain and the domestic cricket system. Aamir said that Pakistan management should protect Maaz Sadaqat from external distractions to ensure its continued business growth.
Aamir said, “Player, you know captain, management and system are made and broken. I am telling you this from my experience. It is his (Maaz’s) job and also the job of our system to not distract him and keep him focused. If you focus on Maaz Sadaqat and he works on his technique, he can become a player.”

Aamir also said that Sadaqat showed aggressive batting technique and clean ball-striking ability. The former fast bowler said that he was hitting sixes all around the ground, which is necessary in limited overs cricket.
“You saw his shots yesterday (Friday). He was not a T20 player but he was hitting sixes on both sides. He can become a player,” Aamir said.
Sadakat also performed brilliantly with the ball during the rain-affected match. Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi handed the ball to the young all-rounder to test Bangladesh’s middle-order batsmen who were struggling on the spin-friendly surface in Dhaka.
Sadaqat lived up to the expectations of the Pakistani captain. The spinner gave 23 runs in five overs. He took three important wickets by dismissing Liton Das, Afif Hussain and Rishad Hussain to ensure a comfortable victory for Pakistan cricket team.
