Mohammad Aamir confirms spot-fixing involving Babar Azam in PSL, but there’s a catch: A surprise discussion on a live TV show after former fast bowler Mohammad Amir made a shocking comment while talking about a possible fight with Babar Azam in the upcoming Pakistan Super League 2026 (PSL 2026) has created fresh controversy in Pakistan cricket.
During the talk show, Mohammad Amir was requested by a fan to allow Babar Azam to hit three-four fours to get his confidence back during the upcoming PSL 2026 after he was dropped from Pakistan’s white-ball teams after a poor T20 World Cup 2026 campaign.
Instead of dismissing the idea, Aamir reacted in a spontaneous and playful manner. He promised the fan that he would allow Babar to hit some fours in the upcoming tournament.
However, the veteran pacer made it clear that he respects Babar’s batting ability a lot and even suggested that the star batsman is capable of hitting boundaries against him in any way.

“It’s done. I will lose the fight… it’s done. Anyway, Babar can easily hit me; he is a great player,” Mohammad Aamir said on Geo TV’s ‘Harna Mana Hai’.
Ahmed Shahzad added fuel to the fire
His reaction immediately went viral on social media. Well, the conversation became even more interesting when former Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad also joined in. It seems as if Shehzad was saying that the deal is done; In PSL 2026, Aamir will deliberately miss some boundaries against Babar.
He insisted that this time Babar will win the battle as last time Aamir had given a tough challenge to the former Pakistan captain in the Pakistan Super League.
Ahmed Shahzad said during the discussion in the same show, “This time when Babar will face Aamir, Babar will win the fight.”
Did Mohammad Aamir agree to spot-fixing in PSL?
When Aamir was asked during a talk show whether he would allow Babar Azam to hit 2-3 fours so that he can gain confidence, he said yes.
Aamir replied, “Done. Anyway, Babar can hit me easily, he is a great player.”

Mohammad Aamir vs Babar Azam in Pakistan Super League
Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi have retained Babar Azam for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League. On the other hand, Mohammad Amir has joined the new PSL team, Team Rawalpindi (Pindies).

Talking about their rivalry in PSL, Amir has had the upper hand in this battle. The left-arm fast bowler has dismissed Babar thrice in the league. During those encounters, Babar managed to score only 20 runs against Aamir in 25 balls at a strike rate of 80 at an average of 6.66.
Aamir calls Abhishek Sharma ‘one-dimensional’
On the other hand, after another poor performance in the T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final against England in Mumbai, Aamir has once again launched a scathing attack on Abhishek Sharma, calling the young Indian opener another “one-dimensional” player.
“Why is Sanju Samson performing? Because if you look at his background, first look at his technique, then look at his first-class career, then look at his IPL career, he can play all around the wicket. A one-dimensional player, as I said in the beginning, doesn’t work in T20 anymore,” Aamir said on Geo News.
He further added, “You have to play all around. Look at Bethel’s innings: when the spinner comes in, he is reverse-hitting it as well; on the first two balls he hit two sixes off Varun Chakravarthy, and on the third ball he hit a six with a reverse sweep. But now one-dimensional players cannot survive in cricket; you have to play in every direction. You need 360-degree players.”
