Moeen Ali drops spin bomb on Salman Ali Aga & Co before T20 World Cup match

Ahead of the India vs Pakistan clash in the T20 World Cup 2026, the Men in Green have received a serious warning, and that too not from the arch-rivals but straight from England.

Both India and Pakistan are set to renew their rivalry in Colombo on Sunday, February 15, and former England all-rounder Moeen Ali has issued a major threat to the Men in Green. Ali has openly said that India’s spin attack can create big problems for Pakistan in this high voltage match.

Moeen Ali gave a serious warning before the India vs Pakistan match in T20 World Cup 2026.

The former England spinner feels that Pakistan’s batsmen should be very careful against India’s spin attack, as Sri Lankan pitches generally favor spinners. This makes Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakraborty even more dangerous. If they get early turn and grip, the Pakistani batsmen will struggle badly.

He opined that Kuldeep Yadav could be the biggest weapon for India, as his googly and flight can confuse any batsman on slow pitches like Colombo, which will be a high-octane match, while Varun’s mystery spin will put pressure on Pakistan in the high-pressure game.

“For India, I would definitely like Kuldeep Yadav to play. He will be a bigger threat to Pakistan than any other Indian bowler,” Moeen Ali said in a podcast with Anees Sajan, as quoted by Times of India.

India full of strength is ready to blast against Pakistan

On the other hand, India’s batting lineup has strength and form. Ishan Kishan is playing excellent cricket. Captain Suryakumar Yadav can attack any bowler. Tilak Verma’s explosive innings in the 2025 Asia Cup final against Pakistan is still fresh, and then Rinku Singh’s explosive finishing is just a luxury.

However, there is still doubt over India’s opening combination as Abhishek Sharma is recovering from a stomach infection. Sanju Samson is in the race for a spot, but his form will be something that the Indian team management will not be happy with.

The previous record of Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya against Pakistan is strong. This gives additional confidence to India.

Rain threat looms over India vs Pakistan blockbuster in Colombo

Meanwhile, the weather may play spoilsport in the big match of India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2026. It is already raining in Colombo, due to which everyone is worried.

There is a possibility of rain around the time of the match also. Therefore, there is a real possibility that the toss may be delayed or even play may be disrupted in Colombo.

But it is a matter of some relief that R. Premadasa Stadium has excellent drainage system. Even if there is heavy rain, the water will clear quickly and the field will be immediately ready for the India vs Pakistan match on Sunday. But now everything depends on the weather.

If the match is marred by heavy rain and is washed out, both India and Pakistan will get one point each, as there is no reserve day for this group-stage game in the tournament.
