Mitchell Starc recorded the second-worst figures in T20 cricket after a crushing defeat to Priyansh Arya and Suryansh Shedge in the PBKS vs DC clash at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala.
Seasoned veteran and Australian professional Mitchell Starc is often regarded as one of the greatest fast bowlers of this generation. Despite being a late entrant in this edition of the IPL, his contribution has been crucial in Delhi’s limited success with the ball.
Starc took three wickets against Rajasthan in his comeback game, and the Capitals won the game after Starc took some useful wickets, including that of Riyan Parag, the highest scorer of that game.
Mitchell Starc records worst IPL figures against PBKS
Australian fast bowler and DC star Mitchell Starc played a strong innings from one end for Delhi Capitals and was handed the new ball. In the first over of the game, Priyansh Arya thrashed him a lot and gave away 22 runs in his first over.
Starc did not return with the ball in the powerplay and returned to bowl only two quiet overs in the middle overs and the death overs. After scoring just 19 runs in his next two overs, Starc struck twice in his final over, dismissing the dangerous Marcus Stoinis on the very first ball.
However, after young Priyansh, it was some of the massacres of young Suryansh Shadege that would haunt the Starks for a long time. The Australian hit a six on the hat-trick ball and a four on the next ball. After this, a powerful six was hit over the midwicket area on his last ball.
He took 2/57 from his four overs at an economy of 14.25, the worst figures of his IPL career so far and the second worst of his T20 career. His worst performance so far came against New Zealand in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in Dubai, where he conceded 60 runs in his four overs.
