Veteran Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has announced his retirement from T20 International in India and Sri Lanka six months before 2026. The left -handed pacer confirmed his decision to move away from the smallest format to focus his test and one -day career.

Stark finished his T20I career as Australia’s leading wickets among the bowlers. Left -handed pacer played 65 matches between 2012 and 2024, taking 79 wickets in the format. He played his final T20I match against India at Gros Islet on 24 June 2024, where he scored 45 runs in four overs.

The experienced bowler played an important role in Australia’s first Men’s T20 World Cup win in 2021. He is expected to continue in tests, Odis and T20 Leagues, including the Indian Premier League.

Mitchell Starc said that Test cricket is his priority. He said that he loved every T20I played for Australia, especially the T20 World Cup 2021.
