Australia national cricket team captain Mitchell Marsh has urged his teammates to be fully prepared for the challenging white-ball series against the Indian national cricket team.
Mitchell Marsh said that the players of Australia National Cricket Team have a lot of respect for the stars of India National Cricket Team and there is a tremendous rivalry between the two teams.

Australia will host India for a three-match ODI series and a five-match T20I series in October-November 2025. Perth Stadium will host the opening match of the ODI series on October 19, and the next two matches will be played in Adelaide and Sydney on October 23 and 25. After that, the T20I matches are scheduled to be played on October 29, 31, November 2, 6 and 8 at five different venues.
Following the conclusion of the India series, the Australian team will host the England national cricket team for a high-octane Ashes series that will be played in November, December and January.
Meanwhile, Mitchell Marsh said that the Australian team loves playing against India and will join the series at the right time ahead of the Ashes and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
“We will prepare all the players for the Ashes, but everyone loves playing against India,” he told foxsports.com.au.
“We have a great rivalry and a lot of respect for them as a team. I think it’s really the right time to play against India before the Ashes series. It’s going to be huge.”
Mitchell Marsh will captain Australia in the absence of Pat Cummins.
Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the entire white-ball series against India as he recovers from a lumbar strain. Additionally, the Australian selectors have announced the ODI squad for the three-match series and the T20 squad for the first two matches only.
In the absence of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Marsh will continue to captain the ODI series while Mitchell Starc has returned to the team. Matt Renshaw has been recalled and is in line for his ODI debut.
However, Marnus Labuschagne has been dropped from the ODI squad after poor performances with the bat in the last 10 innings.
Mitchell Owen is also in line for his ODI debut, while Cameron Green will play in the 50-over matches against India but is not part of the T20 squad. In contrast, Sean Abbott has been included in the T20 team but not in the ODI team.
Star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has missed selection in the T20 squad due to injury but is hoping to recover from the last three matches.
