A funny incident happened during the first ODI of the three-match series between India and Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth on Sunday, October 19. Australian captain Mitchell Marsh was seen experiencing severe cramps and taking gel to ease the pain, but his facial expressions caught the attention.

Australia has taken a 1-0 lead in the ongoing ODI series after winning by 7 wickets in Perth. Chasing the target of 131 runs in a rain-affected game, Marsh scored an unbeaten 46. Josh Philip added 37 runs, while Matt Renshaw scored 21 runs as the team reached the target in 21.1 overs under the DLS method.

However, the scene quickly turned comical when Labuschagne approached his teammate and offered a mysterious combination of liquid and what appeared to be a sachet of energy gel.

Marsh pulled a face that was a mixture of pain and disgust, causing Labuschagne to laugh. Although the identity of the substance is unconfirmed, the commentary team questioned what gel Marsh was actually being forced to consume.

Mitchell Marsh joins elite list of most sixes hit by an Australian in men’s ODI

Mitchell Marsh joined an elite group of Australian ODI power hitters by hitting his 100th six. He became the eighth Australian to achieve this feat.

The right-handed batsman displayed his hitting ability and cleared the ball three times in the Perth match against India. He first thrashed Arshdeep Singh, then Mohammad Siraj and Harshit Rana.

Before the match, Marsh had 99 sixes in ODIs and reached the 100 mark in his 97th appearance. He has scored over 3,000 runs at an average of over 36 and a strike rate of over 95, including four centuries and 20 fifties.

Mitchell Marsh, who was named player of the match, praised the crowd for persevering in challenging conditions. He also expressed his happiness at achieving a home win for Australia. Marsh said he was proud of the young players who took up the responsibility and led the team to victory.

“The weather played its part today. Thank you very much to all the spectators out there. I know these days can be really frustrating, but it’s good to get a win. It always feels good to win on home soil. I love playing for Australia,” Marsh said.
