This is the right decision – Michael Vaughan on the selection of Suryavanshi in the Indian team
Speaking on live commentary in the ongoing England vs New Zealand first test. He supported the selectors’ decision to promote him to the senior team. Vaughan has described him as a special player to watch live.
Michael Vaughan said, “I think he is the best T20 player in the world. Absolutely, it is the right decision. And to be honest, I have watched him for the last one year and when he gets his runs you study and you look at the eliminations in the IPL. At the age of 15, he got 97 runs. In the next game he got 96 runs.”

“You look at the Under-19 World Cup final, what does he do? Score 175 runs. So this kid can perform well when it really counts. We are watching and studying something very, very, very special. I honestly, at the moment, I think he is the best T20 player in the world.”
“To be honest, his strike rate is beyond anything we have seen so far. He is hitting sixes off Jasprit Bumrah’s first ball, sixes off Pat Cummins’ first ball, sixes off Josh Hazlewood’s first ball. He is not hitting trundlers. He is causing damage to the best bowlers of this generation. And people are already debating heavily on how a 15-year-old Should bowl.”
