Wasim Jaffer vs Michael Vaughan goes viral again as Marco Jansen destroys India in Guwahati

Jaffer shared a popular meme from the Bollywood classic, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…’ featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, tagging Vaughan with a cheeky message, which instantly went viral.

But now the tables have turned and Vaughan did not miss the opportunity. When India were bowled out for just 201 runs in their first innings in reply to South Africa’s mammoth score of 489 during the ongoing second and final Test in Guwahati, Vaughan took the opportunity to poke fun at Jaffer.

India had already given South Africa a huge lead of 288 runs on the third day in Guwahati, and it gave Vaughan the perfect opportunity to fire his return shot at Jaffer. Former England captain Michael Vaughan humorously cited one important reason behind India’s defeat and that is left-arm fast bowler Marco Johnson.

Notably, Marco Jensen tore apart the Indian batting line-up, which could have sealed the match for the Proteas in Guwahati. Johnson destroyed India’s middle and lower order, taking six wickets for just 48 runs.

His victims included Dhruv Jurel for 0, captain Rishabh Pant for 7, Ravindra Jadeja for 6, Nitish Reddy for 10, Kuldeep Yadav for 19 and Jasprit Bumrah for 5.

Along with Jensen, South African spinner Simon Harmer added more pressure by taking three wickets for 64 runs as the hosts failed to fight back in the ongoing final Test.

As the Indian innings collapsed, Vaughan humorously took a dig at Jaffer, saying: “Hi @WasimJaffer14… How’s it going today…? It’s not easy facing left-arm fast bowlers…”

Marco Johnson’s magic has disappointed India in Guwahati

Meanwhile, Marco Jansen produced one of the most lethal spells India has ever seen from a visiting fast bowler. The young all-rounder almost single-handedly pulled South Africa to the brink of a rare Test series win on Indian soil. It was a shocking collapse as India had once looked strong.

At 95 for 1, the Indian innings looked stable and in control. But everything changed when Jensen returned for his second spell. From that moment on, India disintegrated dramatically and lost six wickets for just 27 runs. Now all hopes of India leveling the Test series were gone.

Jensen used the short ball as a weapon and destroyed the batsmen one after the other. He took four wickets with a single bouncer and this is a rare feat in India, where the pitches are generally favorable to spin and slow pace. In fact, no bowler in India has taken so many wickets with bouncers in an innings.
