The five-match Test series between India and England concluded with a 2–2 draw at the Oval in London on Monday, August 4. Former England captain Michael Vaughan shared his insight on the series and also named his pics for the best team, top batsman and leading bowler from Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
India defended a target of 374 runs to win the final test at Oval. The five -match series ended in a draw, but players from both sides entertained fans with standout performance. While the pitches favored the batsmen at five places, the bowlers still had a significant impact during the red ball matches.
Michael Won chose the best team, top batsman and leading bowler from the series
After the conclusion of the India-England series, Michael Vaughan, an commentator and analyst, was asked on Stick to Cricket Podcast to choose the best bowler and batter.

Vaughan praised the young Indian team and said that he improved the English hosts in the five -match competition. Although India won more sessions, they stumbled in important moments, causing some damage.
Asked whether England threw the series or are entitled to India, Vaughan said that India is entitled to draw through continuous performance, but England lost their chance on the last morning of the final test.
“India was entitled to a draw during five matches, but England threw him the last morning,” Von said.

Michael Vaughan named Shubman Gill and Mohammad Siraj as the best batsman and bowler
Michael Vaughan chose India’s Shubman Gill and Mohammad Sirraj as the best batsman and bowler of the Indo-England Test series. In particular, Gill and Siraj were the leading run-scores and wickets, respectively.
Gill scored 754 runs above 754, including a dual century and three centuries. Siraj took an average of 23 wickets of 32.43, with two five wickets.
Vaughan also praised Joffra Archer’s impressive comeback for testing cricket, rating it “nine out of 10”, and described as “Veer”, an attempt to bat with one hand in the final test of Chris Woakes.
David Lloyd chose the best team, top batsman and leading bowler from the series
Former England cricketer David Lloyd was also asked similar questions. Lloyd said that India was a strong team during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. He chose Shubman Gill and Mohammad Sirj as the best batsman and bowler of the series.
However, Lloyd evaluated the return of Joffra Archer to test cricket to a higher test, giving it a correct score of 10. He said that England had opportunities to perform better, but India was a major side and the series were entitled to draw.
Lloyd also said that the presence of Ben Stokes has changed the balance in England’s favor for the final test. In particular, the series marked the second consecutive time that both teams drawn a test series in England.
