The Ashes 2025-26 will begin on November 21 and former English captain Michael Vaughan has made a big prediction on England’s chances in the series. This decision is quite different from his previous prediction.
England reached Australia a long time ago and have started their preparations before the Perth Test. Steve Smith will be seen captaining Australia in the first Test in the absence of his captain.
England’s last win in the Ashes on Australian soil came in 2010/11 with a 3–1 victory under Andrew Strauss. Since then, they have lost all three Ashes in Australia and have not won a game in their last 15 fixtures, with 13 defeats to their name.
Michael Vaughan has made a big prediction for the upcoming Ashes
Former England captain Michael Vaughan is making absurd claims about the upcoming Ashes, as he predicted that the English team will defeat the Australian team on their own soil, as it is the weakest Australian team in history.
Now Michael Vaughan has predicted that unless Ben Stokes is fit for England, the series between the two giants is likely to end in a 2-2 draw.
Michael Vaughan tweeted from his Ax handle, “As long as B Stokes stays fit, I think this series is going to be tied 2-2. England will win in Perth without any pats or enthusiasm. Unless we suffer any more injuries before the 1st Test, this is my final prediction.. #Ashes #OnOn.”

Mark Wood has been cleared of any injury concerns ahead of Perth Test
England were dealt a blow when injury-plagued Mark Wood walked off the field after bowling just eight overs during a recent practice match. He was then subjected to scans and fortunately for England, they revealed that the cricketer did not suffer any serious damage.
He has been cleared to bowl, while Wood has not played for England since suffering a knee injury in February. His comeback was planned for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, but he could not make the comeback then.
“Following a precautionary scan on Friday, England fast bowler Mark Wood has been cleared of any concerns regarding his left hamstring,” the ECB confirmed in a statement.
Australia suffered three major setbacks before the Ashes Test.
The Ashes is scheduled to begin in Perth on November 21, while the Test series is scheduled to conclude with the final Test in Sydney on January 8. The Boxing Day Test has been scheduled to be played in Melbourne.
Both the English and Australian teams are struggling with injuries ahead of the start of the Summer Ashes. Australia suffered the biggest blow in the form of their captain Pat Cummins, who is struggling with injury and has not played competitively since July.
The next set of injuries came in the form of Sean Abbott’s hamstring injury suffered while in camp in New South Wales during the Sheffield Shield matches. Josh Hazlewood was injured at the same time and was ruled out of the first Test, with Michael Neser announced as his replacement.
