A famous orthopedic surgeon, known as a specialist for spine surgery in Christchurch, Dr. Rowan Shaouton has operated on notable cricketers like Jasprit Bumrah, Jason Behrendorf, Prasadh Krishna, Cameron Green and James Pattinson.
After recurrence of a back injury, the Indian Speedster excluded the middle-season of the Indian Premier League, resulting in surgery with focusing on its L5 vertebrae on both left and right on both left and right.

It has been reported by IANS that Mayank will start its rehabilitation in Koa in the coming weeks, although no specific timelines have been set for its recovery yet.
