Chasing a target of 126 runs, the India national cricket team won the first match of the three-match ODI series by 7 wickets with 40 balls to spare. Hence, with the emphatic win, the Shreyas Iyer-led team has taken a 1-0 lead in the bilateral T20 series.

The Indian cricket team was in dire need of a win as they had to face defeat in two consecutive T20 series. India started their journey with a 2-0 defeat against Ireland and then a 4-0 defeat against England after Suryakumar Yadav.
Shreyas Iyer and Co. entered the field today in Harare looking to win at any cost. With the new-look T20I playing combination, the multiple-time T20 World Cup winner was in command from the start of the innings.
Mayank Yadav hit a four on the very first ball of the match
Fast bowler Mayank Yadav announced his return to international cricket by taking a wicket on the very first ball of the match. Maintaining his trademark fast pace, Yadav concluded his 4-over spell with two wickets at an economy rate of 4.50. Prince Yadav also performed impressively, taking two wickets for 19 runs in four overs.
As for the third fast bowler, Ashok Sharma, who made his international debut in the T20I today, returned without taking any wickets and was out at an economy rate of 7.25. Shivam Dubey and Ravi Bishnoi also performed well against Zimbabwe today.
With several explosive batsmen in the playing combination, the target of 126 was not enough to put up any resistance against the Men in Blue.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi was the main performer with the bat for the Indian cricket team, scoring 50 runs in 19 balls. With the half-century, he became the youngest international batsman to score a half-century in international cricket, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar.
Despite Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s record-breaking half-century, Mayank Yadav was named player of the match for his impressive bowling spell, which did not allow the home team to score runs at a good pace.

Mayank told that it was a special moment for him as he helped his country win. The fast bowler also said that the surface gave him extra bounce and some movement, which caused trouble to the opposing team’s batsmen in the first innings.
Mayank Yadav said at the post-match presentation ceremony, “It feels great to contribute to the country’s victory. This is a special moment for me. I was enjoying bowling on this wicket after playing in India. I was enjoying the bounce I was getting today, and I was also getting seam movement off the wicket. His spell helped keep them below 130.”
