RR and CSK will have to formally inform the IPL Governing Council that they wish to trade these three players. If the trade goes ahead, written consent from these players will be required before the final agreement can be approved by the IPL Governing Council.

Sanju Samson’s 11-year journey with Rajasthan Royals

Samson and Jadeja are among the most experienced and famous players of IPL. Samson has spent 11 seasons with RR and has become a pillar of the franchise. He made his debut in 2013 and became the youngest player to be retained for the 2014 season at only 19 years old.

The Indian wicketkeeper-batsman was later named RR captain in 2021. Under his guidance, and with the support of team director Kumar Sangakkara, RR reached the IPL final in 2022. In 67 matches as captain, Sanju has an even record of 33 wins and 33 losses.

Samson is also RR’s top run-scorer with 4,027 runs. He has 25 half-centuries and 149 catches to his name in the tournament. In IPL 2024, the right-handed batsman scored 531 runs but then had an ordinary season in 2025, mainly due to injury. After the IPL 2025 season, he decided to leave RR.

Ravindra Jadeja’s CSK legacy

Ravindra Jadeja, on the other hand, has been a key player for CSK since 2012. He has been a part of three of the franchise’s five title wins and is the team’s leading wicket-taker with 143 wickets. Jadeja also shares the record of winning most 16 Player of the Match awards for CSK with MS Dhoni.

The Indian all-rounder even captained CSK for some time in 2022. Jadeja’s IPL journey started with RR, where he won his first title in 2008 at the age of just 19.

After a short suspension and a brief stint with Kochi Tuskers, he joined CSK in 2012 and soon became a part of their core group along with Dhoni. Jadeja’s experience and all-round skills make him a valuable asset to any team.

Talking about Sam Curran, the England all-rounder has had a mixed IPL journey. He started his IPL career with Punjab Kings in 2019, moved to CSK in 2020 and 2021, returned to PBKS and then rejoined CSK in 2025. However, Curran could only score 114 runs and take one wicket in five matches.
