Competition between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (GT) in IPL 2026 Arun Jaitley Stadium April 8 has become the biggest controversy of this season. Claims of match-fixing in DC’s last over have spread on social media, with fans asking why David Miller refused to take a simple single when he needed just two runs from two balls against GT.
The drama unfolded at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, where Delhi Capitals found themselves in a strong position to chase the target of 211 runs against Gujarat Titans. KL Rahul played a brilliant inning of 92 runs in 52 balls, taking DC to 101 for 1 in the 10th over.

However, Gujarat Titans Spinner Rashid Khan turned the game in GT’s favor by dismissing Nitish Rana and red-hot Sameer Rizvi in the same over. This forced David Miller to come in to bat early in the chase, despite the fact that his right hand had already been injured while fielding.
After only a few balls, the South African batsman appeared to be struggling, writhed in pain and surprisingly retired hurt. Then, DC captain Akshar Patel came in but was out for just 2 runs. Soon after, Tristan Stubbs and Rahul were also sent back to the pavilion, and DC found themselves in a difficult position.

David Miller’s spectacular return revives DC’s hopes
After Delhi sank, Miller returned to bat and the wounded man transformed into a monster. Still DC needed 36 runs from 12 balls. But in the next over, Miller hit two sixes and a four off the ball of Mohammad Siraj. Vipraraj Nigam Also got involved in the hitting, as DC got 23 runs from that over.
Well, the equation then was that DC needed only 13 runs from the last over and the match was in their hands. Vipraj hit a four on the first ball and then Miller hit a powerful six. Now only 2 runs were needed from 2 balls and Kuldeep Yadav was at the other end.

But then came that moment which shocked everyone. In fact, miller Refusing to take an easy single which would have tied the match and pushed it into a Super Over had conditions worsened. Fans and commentators were shocked and confused, stunned. Even the players present on the field did not understand what had happened.
On the last ball, Miller missed the ball completely and Kuldeep was run out while trying to steal the bye. Delhi Capitals They lost the match which they had almost won as GT won by one run. After DC’s defeat against GT, fans flooded social media with furious accusations. Many claimed that Miller’s refusal to take a single was clever match-fixing.
