Nothing is going in the right direction for Marnus Labuschagne at the moment, as he averages 12.46 in his last 16 ODIs with no half-centuries. Since September 2024, he has maintained a strike rate of 68.35, which is extremely low considering the high-scoring aspect of current white-ball cricket, although Marnus Labuschagne has been a part of the team and his captain has supported him.
Nazmul Hussain Shanto scored a half-century after donating his life.
Shanto and Tanjeed Hasan made a partnership of 96 runs for the second wicket, with the latter also scoring a half-century and returning to the pavilion on 54 runs. Nazmul Hossain Shanto was dismissed by Matt Renshaw. But both these batsmen laid the foundation for Bangla Tigers to post a defendable and good score in the match.
Bangladesh are well set at 195/4 and Tauheed Hridoy and Mosaddek Hossain are slowly building a partnership for the fifth wicket as they have 13 more overs left in the game and are well set at the crease at 21 and 39 respectively. Keeping in mind the remaining overs, the home team will be eyeing a target of 250-270.
Australia still without Mitchell Marsh
In the first ODI, Australia won the toss and decided to field first; This is the first One Day International (ODI) of the bilateral ODI cricket series between the two countries in 15 years.
