Kusal Perera’s dismissal in the PSL final sparked massive controversy; Marnus Labuschagne is furious

Hyderabad Kingsmen had the worst start in the PSL 2026 final, with the Marnus Labuschagne-led side losing by five wickets in just seven overs of play. Kusal Perera was at the crease with Sam Ayub at the crease.

Kusal Perera was trying to steal a quick single on the 5th ball of the 8th over of the game against Naheed Rana, but the seamer stopped him and he had to run around him to complete his run. Meanwhile, Michael Bracewell picked up the ball and aimed at the stumps.

Now, Marnus Labuschagne was disappointed as he was given a run out because the bowler, according to him, had prevented the batsman from coming back to the crease, which he reported to the fourth umpire. However, the umpire argued that Rana had nothing to do with Perera and was merely looking at the ball.

However, there was a major hurdle standing in the way of the Marnus Labuschagne-led side as Aaron Hardie, after taking several wickets with the ball, has now scored a few runs with the bat.

They are chasing a weak score of 129 which was set in the final after giving credit to Sam Ayub’s brilliant innings and the captain’s early start.
