Big blow to Melbourne Stars in BBL 2025-26
The Stars managed to finish the game successfully against the Strikers, but all eyes are now on the extent of Stoinis’ injury and whether he will be fit for the team’s final group match against the Perth Scorchers at the Optus Stadium in Perth on January 17.
The Stars are currently placed second with 12 points, and will now have to win their final group match against Perth Scorchers to make the final of the Big Bash League 2025-26 without relying on the results of the remaining matches.
Stoinis has been in good form with the bat, having scored more than 200 runs and taken 14 wickets in 9 matches and the captain is hopeful that he will be available for the crucial match in Perth.
