Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match number 50, was between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. It was a reverse match as these two teams met back at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, and this time the match ended in a rain-interrupted game as LSG won by 9 runs.
Rajat Patidar won the toss and decided to field first; He played with the same team after their defeat against Gujarat Titans (GT). LSG made three changes, two of which were forced, with Josh Inglis and Mohsin Khan missing due to respective injuries, Mayank Yadav and Arshin Kulkarni coming in, and Shahbaz Ahmed replacing Mukul Chaudhary.
IPL 2026: LSG vs RCB Match Result:
After being invited to bat first, LSG had another new opening combination, Mitchell Marsh and Arshin Kulkarni opened, and Marsh went wild from the second over as he hit the ball hard and stitched a fifty in 26 balls. Marsh brought up his half-century in 20 balls as LSG scored 68/0 in the power play.
Marsh continued his havoc as he brought up his first century of IPL 2026 in just 49 balls, and Nicholas Pooran was on 14 off 9 balls as the match was halted due to rain for the third time. The Australian batsman was dismissed by his fellow countryman Josh Hazlewood on the score of 111 runs off 56 balls.
Rishabh Pant and Nicholas Pooran then took charge, and the latter was dismissed for 38, and Pant made 32 off 10 balls as LSG scored 209/3 in rain-shortened 19 overs of play.
According to DLS rules, RCB had to achieve the target of 213 runs. The defending champions had the worst start, losing Jacob Bethel for four runs in the very first over. Then, Virat Kohli was also out for a duck on two balls off a pitch ball from Prince Yadav, putting RCB on the backfoot early in the run chase.
After that, Devdutt Padikkal and Rajat Patidar took charge and went on a frenzy as the duo hit the ball all over the park. Patidar hits half-century in just 26 balls; However, it was once again Prince Yadav who broke the 95-run partnership between Patidar and Padikkal, dismissing Padikkal for 34.
After being out on one run, Jitesh Sharma’s struggle continued and soon Patidar was also playing a brilliant inning of 61 runs on 31 balls. Tim David tried his best to score 40 runs in 16 balls and Krunal also scored 28 runs, along with Romario Shepherd scored 23 runs, but Digvesh Rathi defended 20 runs in the last over.
