In a dramatic moment from the ongoing IPL 2026, Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fought not only on the field but also on social media. The LSG vs DC league match turned into a spicy rivalry after KL Rahul was out for a duck on the first ball at the Ekana Stadium on April 1.
Both Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have taken sharp digs at each other through ladder posts and it has now taken social media by storm.
Delhi Capitals won the match after a terrible collapse
Capitals made a great start to their IPL 2026 campaign by defeating Lucknow Super Giants by 6 wickets. However, he had to work hard to compensate for the early decline. Chasing the target of 142, DC slipped to 26/4, with KL Rahul returning to the pavilion on duck.

But two young players managed to take DC over the line within 18 overs. Sameer Rizvi played a brilliant inning of 70* off 47 balls, while Tristan Stubbs gave him excellent support by scoring 39* off 32 balls. His unbeaten stand of 119 took Delhi to 145/4 in 17.1 overs against LSG.
LSG struggling to find rhythm at home
Earlier, thanks to valuable contributions from Abdul Samad (36) and Mitchell Marsh (35), Lucknow Super Giants were all out for 141 runs in 18.4 overs. DC’s bowlers were brilliant at the Ekana Stadium, with Lungi Ngidi taking 3 for 27, while T. Natarajan took 3 for 29.
Young debutant Prince Yadav was the only positive for LSG, taking 2 wickets in an over and finishing with impressive figures of 2/20 against DC in the IPL 2026 encounter.
KL Rahul’s golden duck digs up LSG’s ‘ladder’
Moments after KL Rahul was out for a duck, Lucknow Super Giants took the opportunity to mock their former skipper on social media. He posted a picture of the empty staircase leading to the dressing room. The timing said it all, as the aim was clearly to get KL Rahul out for a duck.

In fact, Capitals had earlier shared a clip of KL Rahul arriving at the Ekana Stadium in grand style, and now LSG’s cryptic post made it clear that it was a reaction to that post. Within minutes, the post went viral and a trolling battle ensued between LSG and DC.
DC has the last laugh with a brutal reply post
After defeating LSG by 6 wickets in Lucknow, Delhi made a strong comeback on social media. The franchise counter-attacked with ladder posts of their own, but they printed Delhi’s win over Lucknow step by step like a scoreboard on the ladder.
DC responded to LSG’s post by reminding them that they had defeated Lucknow in both the matches in 2024, again in 2025 and now once again in 2026, which shows how strong their record is in this rivalry.
