England all-rounder Liam Livingstone has stunned fans after brutally demolishing Indian batting superstar Virat Kohli and former Australian opener David Warner in the latest blind rankings challenge. This comes after Liam Livingstone made headlines with his explosive comments on the IPL.
The explosive all-rounder was tasked with ranking five T20 legends from first, best, fifth, to worst batsman, without knowing who would be next. As the names came up one by one, Livingstone had to take his decisions on the spot.

Chris Gayle has got the top position in Liam Livingstone’s blind ranking.
Appearing on the Stick to Cricket social media segment, Liam Livingstone has described West Indies legend Chris Gayle as the best batsman ever in the T20 game. He said, “Chris Gayle has to be number 1.” Gayle is considered one of the most destructive batsmen the game has ever seen.
With over 14,500 T20 runs, 22 centuries and over 1,000 sixes, the Universal Boss’s statistics show how dangerous a batsman he was. The second place went to former South African captain AB de Villiers. The Englishman said, “I know he’s coming next… straight to number two.”
The legendary Proteas batsman finished his career with 9,424 T20 runs at a whopping strike rate of 150.14. Livingstone has placed his England teammate Jos Buttler at third position. The wicketkeeper-batsman has had an excellent career and remains one of the most dangerous players in T20 cricket.

Butler is one of the biggest names in the franchise cricket world. The former England captain has so far scored 13,456 T20 runs with the help of 8 centuries at a strike rate of 146.66. Speaking about Butler, Livingston said, “Jos is going to beat me here. I’ll go with Jos at three o’clock.”
Fans surprised by Virat Kohli’s ranking
The biggest surprise came when Virat Kohli’s name appeared in this list. With only two places left, Livingstone moved the Indian batting icon to number four. This surprised many people as Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer for RCB and has consistently performed well in the IPL for RCB in the last few years.
Virat Kohli finished his T20I career with 4,188 T20I runs, and has a total of 14,218 T20 runs to his name so far with 10 centuries, yet he was picked at the bottom by his former RCB teammate. Recently, Virat Kohli played a key role in RCB’s title win and shared an emotional message. Virat Kohli has been the highest run scorer in IPL history.
Former Australian opening batsman David Warner has received the “worst” ranking despite being one of the most successful T20 batsmen of the modern era, with over 14,000 runs to his name in the format.
Liam Livingstone has refused to change his ranking
After completing the task Liam Livingston was asked if he wanted to make any changes to his list. This England all-rounder stuck firmly to his choice. He said that Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers are the two players he wants most in his team because of the impact they have made during their careers.
Livingstone also feels that De Villiers deserves special credit because he batted in the middle order and still managed to dominate bowlers from all over the world. His ability to play innovative shots and score runs quickly made him one of the most dangerous batsmen of his generation.
He further said, “Yes, I consider Gayle and AB. AB probably… I think Gayle was the best, but AB did it in the middle order, which is difficult, but I think I would love to have both of them in my team.”
