English all-rounder Liam Livingstone turned on his beast mode as he scored 33 runs in one over from Dwayne Pretorius during the second match of the International League T20 between Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and Sharjah Warriors.

The ILT20, i.e., the International League T20 held in Abu Dhabi, is back, and this time it is bigger, with several Indian-origin players registering for the first time. Players like Dinesh Karthik and Piyush Chawla made their debut in the ILT20 tournament.

In the second match, there was an exciting match between Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and Sharjah Warriors. The Knight Riders are led by Sunil Narine, the face of their franchise in any tournament in the world, while the Warriors have appointed Tim Southee as their captain. Southee left his role as England’s bowling consultant midway through the Ashes to play in the tournament.

Liam Livingstone, you beauty!! Andre Russell stunned by the English all-rounder’s fearless striking

Abu Dhabi Knight Riders’ innings got off to a good start with Alex Hales giving them wide starts. After his dismissal, Liam Livingstone and Sherfane Rutherford took over the innings. Despite the early wicket of Adil Rashid, the runs never stopped coming for the Knights.

Livingstone targeted an over from Dwayne Pretorius, who was looking an economical bowler up to that point. Starting with a wide, Liam Livingstone hit a six on the second ball, a double on the next ball and then hit the rest of the balls out of the park.

When Liam Livingstone took over the innings, Andre Russell standing at the other end was surprised and started smiling. An over of 33 is huge at any point in the game, as it completely shifts the momentum to your end.

Abu Dhabi Knight Riders get off to a great start as Livingstone dominates

After being pushed into bat, Alex Hales gave Abu Dhabi Knight Riders a very solid start and was supported by a subtle innings from Alishan Sharafu. However, the innings gained momentum when England batsman Liam Livingstone paired with West Indies batsman Sherfane Rutherford.

The right-left-arm combination of Livingstone and Rutherford paid off as the Knight Riders bowled quickly in the middle overs and also in the death overs. Rutherford played an easy inning of 45 runs in just 27 balls and Livingstone scored 82* runs in just 38 balls with the help of 8 sixes in his innings.

Knight Riders set a target of 234 runs for the Warriors and despite so much firepower in the Sharjah Warriors lineup, they succumbed to the pressure of such a huge target.

Despite early carnage from Tim David, Warriors fall well short of target

West Indies’ big hitter Johnson Charles opened the innings with the Englishmen around him in the batting order. However, not having a solid start increased the run rate and increased the pressure on the others.

The great Australian Tim David, who played an inning of 98 runs in a 10 over match earlier this week, once again won everyone’s heart by playing an inning of 60 runs in 24 balls. Pretorius, who had given away so many runs, looked dominant with some hitting up front, and Adil Rashid also played a bit of a cameo.

Despite all this, they missed out by 39 runs as players like Sikandar Raza and debutant Dinesh Karthik could not do much with the bat. The Sunil Narine-led team is on top of the points table with an NRR of 1.950.
