Veteran Team India opener Rohit Sharma, who made a comeback to domestic one-day cricket earlier this week, was out for a golden duck in Mumbai’s Vijay Hazare Trophy second round game against Uttarakhand. A 50-over match is going on at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Friday, 26 December.
Rohit made a strong comeback in domestic 50 over cricket. Playing his first Vijay Hazare Trophy match in seven years, the Mumbai opener scored 155 off just 94 balls against Sikkim. He equaled David Warner’s record for the highest score of over 150 in this format, with both batsmen on nine runs.

However, Rohit Sharma failed to make an impact with the bat. While opening for Mumbai, he was out without opening the account in the very first over of the match.
The right-handed batsman immediately tried to play aggressive shots. He missed the pull shot and the ball went straight to the fielder. Rohit was caught, due to which Mumbai got into early trouble.
At the other end, Angkrish Raghuvanshi played cautiously and saw a series of dismissals. The early wicket was a big disappointment for the visitors, who were expecting to see Rohit bat for a long time.
Fans were hopeful that Rohit Sharma would perform well again in the match against Uttarakhand.
After his big innings at the beginning of the tournament, fans were expecting another strong performance from Rohit Sharma, but it did not happen this time. A large number of supporters reached Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur early on Friday morning to watch his batting.
When Rohit was out cheaply, the atmosphere in the stands changed. As soon as he returned to the pavilion, some fans also started leaving the stadium. They came mainly to see him in action. Notably, this is his final match in the tournament, as he will now prepare for the New Zealand series.
Earlier, the spectators became excited when Uttarakhand captain Kunal Chandela won the toss and chose to bowl. However, Bora surprised Rohit early on and dismissed him early, which took away the excitement in the stands.
