Despite facing many serious injuries at the beginning of her career, Pujara did not lose Asha and strengthened back after every stroke.
He continuously played influential cricket and made his way to the Indian Test team, where he remained as the mainstay of batting for more than a decade and played some mythological innings, which would be remembered forever.
Pujara was not a fiery or aggressive batsman, but he managed to represent four teams in his Indian Premier League (IPL) career.
Cheteshwar Pujara donated Jersey of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), and Chennai Super Kings.
Overall, he played 30 matches in his IPL career and scored 390 runs at an average of 20.52 and a strike rate of 99.74. His last appearance came to CSK as he was bought by Super Kings for INR 50 lakh in auction in 2021, but was baked throughout the season.
See, a big factor of his retirement is also the fact that he does not play in the IPL – sources
After the final of the ICC World Test Championship 2023, Cheteshwar Pujara was removed from the Indian Test team and was not remembered despite continuously scoring for Saurashtra and Sussex. He was also snatched to the upcoming Dilip Trophy.
Meanwhile, a report by the Times of India claimed that India played a major role in Pujara’s retirement from cricket due to the Test Snow, Dilip Trophy non-selection, and no IPL contract.
“Perhaps if he was selected for the test series in England, Pujara retired after the fifth test. See, a big factor in his retirement is that he does not play in the IPL. In that case, Test Snow and Dollip Trophy Snow means that there was a very low point in continuing to play domestic cricket for solarization.”
