Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav provided early success to Team India on the third day (Sunday, October 12) of the second and final Test against West Indies. Shai Hope, who scored 36 runs in the first session of the third day’s play at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, was clean bowled by Kuldeep off the pitch.
The visiting team started the third day at 140/4 with Shai Hope and Tevin Imlach present at the crease. Hope and Imlach tried to build a partnership and help the team avoid the follow-on. However, Kuldeep got the first wicket of the day as the Roston Chase-led side lost half their team for 156 runs.

In the first innings of West Indies, Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Shai Hope on the third ball of the 50th over. Kuldeep bowled the ball outside which went away before it could be straightened. Hope, hoping to turn it around, moved forward defensively but played on the wrong line.
Hope missed the ball completely as the ball hit his off stump. The right-handed batsman had to leave for the dressing room after scoring 36 runs in 57 balls including five fours. Notably, this was his 31st consecutive Test innings without a half-century.
After taking the wicket, Kuldeep jumped in joy and punched in the air. This delivery earned praise from the cricket community.

India maintained strong control in the second Test against West Indies due to the brilliant bowling of Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja. Kuldeep dismissed Shai Hope, Alec Athanaz and Tevin Imlach, while Jadeja dismissed John Campbell, Tangerine Chanderpaul and Roston Chase.
At the time of writing, the visitors were struggling at 163/6 with Justin Greaves and Khary Pierre at the crease.
Earlier, India declared their innings at 518/5 after excellent batting. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 175 runs on 258 balls, while captain Shubman Gill remained unbeaten on 129 runs. Sai Sudarshan added 87 runs, and Dhruv Jurel, Nitish Reddy and KL Rahul made useful contributions.
