Kuldeep Yadav took five wickets in the first innings of the two-match Test series. He now holds the record for most five-wicket hauls as a left-arm wrist spinner and he has achieved this success in some of the Test matches he has played.

India will be hoping to achieve another win in terms of innings as they forced West Indies to follow on after falling behind by 70 runs to avoid follow-on in the first innings of the second Test. Windies were all out for 248 runs against India’s huge score of 518/5.

The Indians are confident of victory and there are still two days of play left, so the match will definitely not end in a draw. If this match ends in favor of the Indians, it will be Shubman Gill’s fourth win as captain and Gautam Gambhir’s second Test bilateral series win.

A unique test record has been registered in the name of Kuldeep Yadav.

The Indian spinner made headlines after his dominance against the West Indies batsmen on the third day. He started the day with his spell from one end and Jasprit Bumrah from the other end.

He bowled tirelessly in the innings and took the most important 4 wickets in the West Indies batting order. Kuldeep finished with figures of 5/82 in his first innings and took the fifth 5-fer of his Test career.

With the wickets of Alick Athanazé, Shai Hope, Tevin Imlach, Justin Greaves and Jayden Seales, Kuldeep reached a new milestone in his short red-ball career. He has the most number of five wickets among left arm wrist spinners in the world.

Most five-overs by left-arm wrist spinners (Test):

5-Kuldeep Yadav (15 Tests)
5 – Jonny Wardle (28 Tests)
4 – Paul Adams (45 Tests)

Great record took Kuldeep to the top of the world

After seeing the seamers dominate in the first Test in Ahmedabad, spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who returned to Test cricket after almost a year as he did not play a single Test against England earlier this year, also took 4 wickets in Ahmedabad.

He took matters into his own hands on the third day of the second Test and cleaned up the West Indies batsmen of the Test with a top 5-fer. The 30-year-old has played 15 Tests so far and has taken 65 wickets at an average of 21.09 and a remarkable strike rate of 36.

With this, Kuldeep Yadav created a record of having one of the best strike rates with a minimum of 50 wickets in the longest format of the game.

Best bowling strike rate in Test history (minimum 65 wickets):

34.1 – George Lohman

36.0-Kuldeep Yadav

38.0 – Marco Janssen

38.7 – Shane Bond

West Indies started the second innings with a changed style

Unlike the previous innings, the West Indies batsmen have acted more fearlessly this time. Despite two early wickets of Tegnarin Chanderpaul and Alek Athanaz, openers John Campbell and Shai Hope have shifted gears and counter-attacked the Indian spinners.

After Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar scored runs, the star spinner of the first innings was called up. However, he welcomed them back with an opening over of 16 runs. Kuldeep Yadav kept his composure and got his economy down; However, the fearless attitude of the Windies batsmen had frightened the Indian bowlers to some extent.
