1983 World Cup winner Kris Srikkanth has launched a scathing attack on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), saying they made Mohammed Siraj a “terrible” bowler during his stint in the Indian Premier League (IPL) between 2018 and 2024.
Siraj was one of the best RCB bowlers in their IPL history, taking 83 wickets in 87 matches during his memorable seven-year stint before joining Gujarat Titans ahead of the 2025 season for a whopping Rs 12.25 crore in the mega auction.

Kris Srikkanth credits Gujarat Titans for Mohammed Siraj’s brilliant turnaround
Now, the Indian pace has become a completely different bowler. Recently, Kris Srikkanth has massively praised Gujarat Titans for completely changing the careers of many Indian players in IPL 2026.
The former Indian chief selector also highlighted the incredible transformation of Siraj, who has become one of the most dangerous bowlers this season.

After facing criticism during his time with RCB, Siraj has now become one of GT’s biggest match-winners with the ball. His aggression, accuracy and confidence are impressing everyone from the 2025 season.
Siraj was very bad with RCB, but now he is a lethal bowler: Srikkanth
Mohammed Siraj has taken 13 wickets in 12 matches at an economy rate of 8.22 for Gujarat Titans in the ongoing IPL 2026. He has also bowled the maximum number of 109 dot balls so far this season.
“Siraj was very bad with RCB. But here, he has become a lethal bowler,” Kris Srikkanth said in a video on his YouTube channel.
The rise of Jason Holder, Washington Sundar and Sai Sudarshan in GT has impressed Kris Srikkanth
Sai Sudarshan and Washington Sundar also improved for Gujarat Titans. Srikkanth feels that Gujarat Titans deserve huge credit as they have managed to bring the best out of players who were struggling or not getting enough importance in other teams.
The former Indian captain said that many teams might not have trusted Sai initially, but Gujarat Titans supported him strongly and helped him become one of the most reliable batsmen in the IPL. He credited GT’s smart planning and player management for the huge difference.
“Similarly, no other team would have picked up Sai Sudarshan. Yet, GT has transformed him to a different level. He has got Washington Sundar to bat at No. 4 and has transformed him into a batting all-rounder.”
The former Indian cricketer said, “They have a brilliant bowling lineup. And they still have Washington Sundar, who they just don’t use. Jason Holder doesn’t even give 25 to 30 runs in every match. He bowls brilliantly in the middle overs and takes wickets for them.”

I want to salute Sai Sudarshan: Kris Srikkanth
Meanwhile, Sai Sudarshan once again showed his class during Gujarat Titans’ big win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Ahmedabad. On a difficult pitch, Sai completely changed the game by playing with maturity and calmness and scoring a brilliant inning of 61 runs off just 44 balls.
Srikkanth was particularly impressed by Sai’s cricket intelligence and awareness. He pointed out that the young players always understand the match situation completely and adjust their game according to the pitch conditions. That consistency has made him one of the dangerous batsmen this season.
He said, “Sai Sudarshan assessed the wicket brilliantly. Immediately after two overs, he realized it was not 200 wickets. He is not a flamboyant cricketer. But look at how he scores in different conditions in almost every match. I want to salute Sai. I have never seen a player like him, who adapts to the conditions and plays so well. Despite his remarkable consistency this year no one is talking about him. In fact, even His strike rate is also very good and his wicket awareness is exemplary.”
