KL Rahul’s scavengers hands England free run on a platter
After being invited to bat first in the match, India batted for about one and a half days and scored 358 runs on the board in 114.1 overs.
Sai Reformson (61), Yashsvi Jaiswal (58), Rishabh Pant (54), and KL Rahul (46) emerged as the top artists for the visiting team, while Ben Stokes shines with his 5-vetic hall for England.
When it was the turn of England to bat, the conditions on the offer were not easy, but the English openers got a lot of help from the Indian bowlers as they were well and could not bowl in good lengths.
Ben Docket and Zak Crolly punished the bad balls and helped England get into a major position in tea breaks. The tea brake was called with Zak Croly (33 runs 44) and Ben Docket (41 runs 41) at England 77/0.
After the player returned from the break for the last session of Day 2, Shardul Thakur started the magic, and on the second ball, he accepted a border.
However, this was not his fault completely, and KL Rahul scored four runs in England. On the second ball of the 15th over, Shardul Thakur delivered a short length outside the off-stump, away from Zak Croly.
The English opener cooked on him, and the outside edge defeated the fielder in the street. KL Rahul, who was in slip cordon, chased the ball, and it seemed that he would stop the ball from hitting ropes.
However, KL Rahul looked dirty, put a dive too quickly, and his knee got stuck on the ground, causing the ball to go for four. This was a terrible explosion from KL Rahul that handed over a free run to England.

It was nonsense – Ricky Ponting on India’s bowling
Speaking on Sky Sports, Legendary Australia captain Ricky Ponting brutally killed the Indian bowlers and questioned their strategy. He said that India had displayed nonsense bowling efforts and was surprised to see Ansul Kamboj bowling with Jaspreet Bumrah. Ricky Ponting Detailed:
“I think we heard it when we were waiting to come out just before the break, what Ravi Shastri said. It was nonsense. He only missed his areas.
“I am not sure what they were expecting out of the surface, but I mean I was surprised to actually start to start with a new ball with Kamboj ahead of Siraj, knowing what has the impact on this series so far, knowing how important England’s batting innings is, you know how important they are coming out and their shots are going to play.
“I think he had to go for his best and most experienced bowlers. They landed for a flyer, the way the ducker, so many boundaries, the wicket’s class on the leg side, you know that you can’t bowl there, so they have got some work now.
“They are found together on the break and work how they are trying and bowling to slow the scoring, but then work how they are going to take out both of them.”
