On the third day of the second and final Test between India and West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, KL Rahul came into the limelight for all the wrong reasons. It looked like India were in a hurry to finish the game as quickly as possible and it was seen in their actions.
The Indian opener was caught red-handed messing with the stumps bails even before the lunch break was declared on the third day of the second and final Test in Delhi, with the West Indies team showing great determination and frustrating the bowlers.
KL Rahul’s prank before lunch goes viral as umpire calls Indian players back for one more over in Delhi
This incident came to light after the 70th over of West Indies’ innings. In fact, when the Indian players were going for the lunch break, KL Rahul deliberately uprooted the stumps and the umpire could not avoid the actions of the right-handed batsman just before the lunch break.

In the viral video, the Karnataka batsman was seen passing near the stumps and dislodging the bails with his finger. In a surprising move, Rahul even stopped to look at the fallen vine, but instead of fixing it immediately, he walked straight away.
The umpire, Richard Illingworth, immediately saw the act and immediately called the players back onto the field. India had to bowl one more over before being allowed to take a break. This cheeky act of Rahul has now gone viral on social media platforms.

India dominated the morning session, but West Indies’ tail-enders struggled in the Delhi Test.
Meanwhile, in the morning session on the third day, the Indian bowlers dominated the West Indies batting lineup and put the visiting team under severe pressure by taking four wickets in 29 overs. Kuldeep Yadav struck early and took vital wickets, while Mohammed Siraj uprooted Jomel Warrican’s stumps as India had a real chance of a possible follow-on.
However, a 42-run partnership for the ninth wicket between Khary Pierre and Anderson Phillip slowed down India’s momentum. Pierre and Philippe showed courage and composure, defending the strike and occasionally hitting scoring shots, taking West Indies to 217 for 8 at lunch, trailing by 301 runs.

West Indies will have to cross the mark of 319 runs to avoid follow-on. With only two wickets remaining, it is highly likely that India will enforce the follow-on. But the stance of the lower order could impact whether the hosts enforce the follow-on or bat again to extend their lead in the ongoing second Test in Delhi.
KL Rahul made a mistake in understanding the spin, got stumped after a great start.
Earlier, KL Rahul’s brilliant start in the second Test against West Indies ended in disappointment as he was stumped for 38 by Jomel Warrican after misreading the spin. After a brilliant century in the first Test in Ahmedabad, Rahul was looking in great touch and looking to score another big score in Delhi.
Rahul started aggressively. Just as the Indian opener was finding his rhythm, a momentary lapse in concentration proved costly for him. He was stumped after stepping out of his crease and misjudging the turn. His form as India’s first-choice opening batsman has been a big boost for India this season, especially after Rohit Sharma retired from Test cricket.
Along with Jaiswal, Rahul has created a solid opening pair combining experience and youthful energy. His adaptability and calmness at the crease remains important for India in this format.
