Indian stand-in captain KL Rahul revealed in the press conference that he and his teammates will be expecting the presence of MS Dhoni during the first ODI in Ranchi. He also hoped to please the audience and MS Dhoni with his performance.
The India national cricket team has reached Ranchi and will take on the South African side for a three-match ODI series to avenge their humiliating defeat in the longest format of the game.
The series will begin with Ranchi hosting the first match on Sunday, November 30, followed by the second match in Raipur on December 3 and the final match of the series in Visakhapatnam on December 6.
KL Rahul praises MS Dhoni as India reach Ranchi for the start of ODI series
With Shubman Gill out of the team due to neck cramps, KL Rahul was given the ODI captaincy of India. Acting captain KL Rahul along with his team is preparing to erase the memories of the shameful defeat in the Test series from the minds of Indians.
Recently during a press conference he expressed his opinion about former Indian captain and Ranchi homegrown player MS Dhoni. Even KL Rahul once made his debut for India under MS Dhoni and started off with a century.
At the press conference, Rahul continued to praise the former captain and Ranchi’s favorite son, as he said that Dhoni has been an inspiration for many people of his generation and even those who came before him.
“We all played under him [Dhoni]We all are his fans, We all played together, We are all friends, “It is a very pleasant opportunity to know someone like MS, to know someone as big as MS and as successful as an Indian player,” Rahul told reporters on Saturday,

Paparazzi will never let celebrities keep anything personal in their lives as former Indian all-format cricketer and experienced run-scorer in ODIs, Virat Kohli was seen with MS Dhoni when the legend took them back to the team hotel.
On Thursday night, MS Dhoni was seen driving while he was taking Kohli back after dinner at his Ranchi home. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was also in the same car and this was confirmed by a short clip of MS Dhoni’s SUV on social media.
However, Rohit Sharma was not seen with them as he reminisced about the good old times and days during the golden era of Indian cricket in which both of them were the top pioneers.
KL Rahul says, “If he comes to watch the match, we along with the spectators will also get more excited.”
KL Rahul looked positive about MS Dhoni coming to the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi as he is now at his home in Ranchi. This is the same ground where MSD played its last home ODI against Australia in 2019.
Rahul commented, “We all respect him as a human being. If he comes to watch the match with the crowd, we will be more excited. Hopefully, we can win the game, perform well and entertain the crowd. MS Dhoni will also be happy that we won the game.”
