RR has already interacted with several franchises, including Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), according to media reports.

At first, it seemed that Samson was going to CSK, but the deal was not done because RR wanted Ruturaj Gikwad, Shivam Dubey or Ravindra Jadeja in return.

Then, there was a discussion between RR and KKR, and Telegraph reported that they are in the final stage talks regarding Sanju Samson trade. It was mentioned in the report that Angkrish Raghuvanshi or Ramandeep Singh could be exchanged for Sanju Samson.

However, according to Subhayan Chakraborty, a Revsports journalist, KKR franchise sees the next Shubman Gill in Angkarish Raghuvanshi, and he does not want to release it and do not want to do an explosion as he did with India Test captain.

The journalist said, “The name of Angakarish Raghuvanshi came out, but Angakarish Raghuvanshi …, KKR Rate Angkrish Raghuvanshi is very high. They rate it in the same bracket as Shubman Gill,” said the journalist. “And they know that they made Shubman Gill one of the biggest blunders in releasing, when they released her in the past. Therefore, for Angkarnish Raghuvanshi, they do not want to do so.”

KKR interested in business of Ramandip Singh

The journalist said that Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is interested in the business of Ramandeep Singh for Rajasthan Royals (RR) for Sanju Samson. He also mentioned that Nitish Rana could return to KKR after being released by RR.

The journalist said, “Ramandip is the name that is doing the round. And he is someone who is interested in KKR business. Because, again, he comes to bat at number 7, number 8. He is a gun player. He is a brilliant fielder,” the journalist said.

“One of the best fielders in the IPL. But for Sanju Samson, a little cash, with a little cash, you can trade a Ramandeep Singh and this is a certainty. But Rajasthan Royals also need someone who can come at 6,7,7, number 7.

“With Ryan Parag, Dhruv Jurael will create that middle order. I don’t think they will maintain Nitish Rana. Therefore, a Nitish Rana is also possible for KKR. It is also possible to return home. Not in business, not in the auction window, if they are ready to buy him.”

Sanju Samson to enter IPL 2026 auction?

Kerala wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson is the most shaken player in history for Rajasthan Royals with 155 matches under his belt. He has scored an average of 31.96 for RR and 3002 runs at a strike rate of 140.53.

His journey with Royals is ready to end before IPL 2026, but it is not yet decided where he will end. If business talks with KKR do not proceed, and even if an all-Kaash deal is not done, Sanju Samson can enter the IPL 2026 auction.

If this happens, KKR will report to his bank to allegedly achieve it, and they are ready to release Venkatesh Iyer, Quinton de Kock, Umran Malik and Spencer Johnson’s choice to free some funds.

The journalist said, “KKR will make heavy bets for him as he will be a purse after releasing the choice of other bowlers like Venkatesh Iyer, perhaps Quinton de Kock, Perhaps Spencer Johnson or Umran Malik, which we have spent a lot of money.”
