KKR set Venkatesh Iyer for SRH Superstar in high-profile trade before IPL 2026

Indian all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer, one of the most expensive purchases in the IPL 2025 mega auction, is expected to leave Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) before the next auction, with 23 23.75 crore. Venkatesh Iyer is likely to join the new franchise for the next season, with the IPL trading window currently open.

Kolkata Knight Riders broke the bank for Iyer, but things did not happen according to the plan. All -rounder scored just 142 runs in IPL 2025 at an average of 20. His form was submerged, and then injuries disturbed him, and then he was eventually removed from playing with XI.

Ishan had a 2025 season, scoring 354 runs for SRH and even broke a century. Despite its decent season, Sunrisers Hyderabad is allegedly set to sacrifice Ishaan for Iyer before the IPL 2026 auction. It is being said that both KKR and SRH are involved in business talks.

The left-handed batsman fits perfectly in KKR’s plan as he looks for an aggressive top-order wicketkeeper-better. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad is looking for a powerful middle-order all-rounder. If he receives the form, Iyer can be a solution.

Reports states that both teams see this business as victory and win, but there is no official word yet. Between these talks, more drama is brooing, as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) can even jump into the race to trade Venkatesh Iyer. With the IPL trading window being open, it can be one of the largest swaps before the IPL 2026 auction.

GT is likely to release New Zealand’s Glen Philips to make it to Glenn Maxwell. The next line has Liam Livingstone, who played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2025 and did not live up to expectations.

DC and MII Rishabh in a shocking business deal

But the most amazing business rumor surrounds Rishabh Pant. Star Indian wicketkeeper-Baitter was selected by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the last season in the 2025 mega auction for ₹ 27 crore in the previous season.

Although the pants did not have a great season, it is not very possible that LSG will participate with the most expensive player in IPL history. Nevertheless, Delhi Capital (DC) is now allegedly eager to bring back the pants back to the board before IPL 2026. Even MI has shown interest in pants.
