Legendary England National Cricket Team batsman Kevin Pietersen has given his final praise to South Africa National cricket team star batsman Aden Markram after his heroes in the WTC final 2025.
Kevin Peterson said the ICC World Test Championship is best by a South African player in the history of Test cricket played by Aiden Markram in the final of 2023-25.

Aiden Markram Bag Player for Match Award in WTC final
Markram made a terrible start in the ICC World Test Championship final against Australia in South Africa’s first innings, he made 6 balls, which fell to Mitchell Starc in the first over.
The right -handed batsman strongly shocked in the second innings and demonstrated his real ability. He batted with great confidence in the second innings and settled the threat of the Australian motion trio very well.
Batting in the second innings also became a little easier, and Markram took the most advantage of this by playing a knock for the age. The initial batsmen were involved in four important partnerships chasing 282 in the WTC final.
Markram added 61 runs with Vian Malder, 147 runs with Temba Bavuma, 24 runs with Triston Stabs, and 35 runs with David Bedingam before falling in the 81st over.
Although the Aiden Markram was unable to finish the game, he did enough to ensure that the protias finished the 27 -year waiting for the ICC Trophy.
He completed his innings with 14 fours with a score of 136 runs from 207 balls, and was awarded the Player of the Match for his valor.

Speaking after the match, England batting at Great Kevin Pietersen appreciated Eden Markram and knocked as the best innings by the South African batsman in Test cricket.
“Perhaps any South African batsman has ever played the best innings in Test match cricket. It can not go down as the most attacker or entertaining if you look at South Africa’s test history – but when you see the factor, stage, and pressure after failing in the first innings, it was extraordinary,” Peterson said, “Peterson said on Gehotstar.
He said, “Whether you are a batsman or a bowler, when your country is relying on you and you have to distribute – this pressure is very big. He lost Ricelton quickly, yet he really went to produce something brilliant. It is difficult to describe that kind of pressure,” he said.
Aiden is a big match player – Kagiso Rabada
Premier Pacer Kagiso Rabada, who also played an important role in the final victory of South Africa’s WTC, said Aiden Markram is a big match player and he batted exceptionally well against the famous Australian bowling unit.
“Aiden is a big match player. The way he laid down his land with such a resolution-it was remarkable to see. His presence, the way he dominated his place, and stuck in his game plan without tampering, was just fantastic.
“You still had to bat really well on the pitch-it was not where you could be loose. They were setting off-side trap, leg-side trap, but they navigated everyone in their innings.”
