Kerala veteran all-rounder Jalaj Saxena has signed with Maharashtra for the upcoming 2025–26 domestic season, after playing for the former state for 9 years.
Many star players have recently left their state teams due to limited opportunities presented to them and transferred their Aadhaar to a new side.
Former Tamil Nadu has moved all -rounder Vijay Shankar and Andhra batter Hanuma Vihari to Tripura, while Prithvi Shaw has also made a big swap for Maharashtra.

Kerala has experienced all -rounder Jalaj Saxena who has joined the Maharashtra cricket team
The Maharashtra Cricket Association has confirmed the move taken by former Kerala all-rounder Jalaj Saxena, as the generation with him, a notable career in Indian domestic cricket, brings great experience to the qualities.
“Jalaj Saxena is a very talented and experienced cricketer whose Ranji Trophy and achievements in domestic cricket are really extraordinary. He is one of the best all -rounders in India.”
MCA President Rohit Pawar said, “His huge experience will greatly benefit young players in the Maharashtra team, and their inclusion strengthens the team significantly.”
Jalaj Saxena shows great pride in joining MCA
Despite never playing a single international game in his career till this stage, the great all-rounder has influenced everyone with his domestic figures and has an average of 7060 runs in 33.77, including 14 centuries and 34 half-centuries. Experienced has also selected 484 wickets and 150 has 34 five wickets in first -class games.
His experience extends further to 109 list A matches, including Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and a brief stent with Punjab Kings in the IPL.

Along with highlighting Saxena’s credibility as one of the best Indian domestic all-rounders, the MCA has also praised its strategic talent, capabilities and many major assets for the team.
Saxena is the second appointment of the pre-season, beyond the all-rounder, former Mumbai batsman Prithvi Shaw has also taken a step for the Maharashtra Cricket Association. He was the first major signature in this season.
Maharashtra, along with these players, the choice of Sean Williams has also been included as the director of cricket to strengthen his management. This will be his second role in MCA after serving as his coach from 2008-12.
Williams said, “All his abilities, together with their experience and leadership, will be invaluable to both the team and young cricketers who are demanding guidance. Jalaj Saxena is definitely a significant possibility for Maharashtra this season.”
